"There is nothing which has yet been contrived by man, by which so much happiness is produced as by a good tavern or inn" - Dr. Samuel Johnson

When you decide to lend a friend money, you are faced with a dilemma. You must resolve what is more important to you - the money or the friend?

The value of a true friendship should never be underestimated and includes admirable qualities such as trust and honesty.
Conventional thinking indicates that good friendships enhance an individual's sense of happiness and overall well-being, such are their importance.

When trust is breached - and the money you have leant remains unpaid - you have every right to consider that person a friend no more.
